Drawing is my first passion but I use a mix of hand and digital techniques to achieve a variety of effects. I find that combining pencil drawings with digital colour in Photoshop allows me to express myself and produce work efficiently. My designs are inspired from wherever I find shape, structure and colour.
In the last two years I’ve also written and printed two children’s picture books (one self published) and have further books in the pipeline.
I studied fine art, graphics and animation to degree level before working in the media industry for ten years. I now teach Art and Design part time as well as producing and selling my work. I also run craft market stalls and workshops alongside school visits and professional practice talks.
Please feel free to contact me if you'd like any further information. Go to my contact page for more details. I'd love to hear from you!

Life has changed and a lot is on hold or cancelled. Regretfully Duck's Lucky Play has been cancelled but will hopefully return in the future.
In the meantime, stay home, stay safe and see you again!
Duck takes to the stage!
Yes! That's right! Duck will be live on stage this Easter!! Following the success of 'Duck's Lucky Day' Duck and his friends will be brought to life on the CryerArts stage. His adventure will extend into the new book 'Duck Gets Stuck' which will also be available in April.
I can't believe that an idea I had for a book that people might be interested in buying is now something I can share with a theatre audience live on stage! It's just so exciting!
I should add that I'm not doing this alone! I've partnered up with the amazingly enthusiastic professional storyteller Andy Copps. I worked with Andy on 'Tales from the Odyssey' and 'Fidelio' and I'm looking forward to performing with Andy again and really bringing Duck to life.
Thur 16, Fri 17, Sun 19 April, shows at 11am & 3pm
The CryerArts Centre, Carshalton SM5 3BB
Tickets are available from Ticket Source by clicking here
A night at the opera
Following on from my work on Tales of the Odyssey at the Southbank last year, I was asked to provide illustrated backdrops to be projected on stage for the opera 'Fidelio'.
I worked with storyteller Andy Copps on the Odyssey and he invited me to work with him again on his latest project. He and the Fidelio Orchestra retold the Beethoven opera, originally set in a Spanish prison, this version was set in the City of London with 'P Corp' providing the corporate prison setting.

Duck goes to Bookpotato!
Duck jumped on the train to visit kids in Leatherhead's newest book shop, Bookpotato. We had a lovely time making up stories, reading Duck's Lucky Day and drawing pictures of his adventures.
Bookpotato supports independent authors and it was great to meet Tom and Carrie who were happy to stock my book.
I also did a short interview with Tom from Bookpotato which you can view here.
To find out more about Bookpotato visit their website here.
CAOS19, back for a 3rd year
When we started the first Carshalton Artists Open Studios in 2017 we didn't know if would work but we hoped we were starting something that we'd do more than once.
Well, this year we're back for a 3rd year with nearly 60 artists and more new locations! So we're all set to be even bigger and better with loads more inspiring artwork.
Studios will open 11am-5pm on 22, 23, 29 and 30th June.
For full event details visit www.carshaltonartists.com or follow us on social media @carshalton_art
...oh, and we also have artwork inspired by Frank Dickinson and a piggy trail with raffles and a prize draw!!!
Trees for all seasons
I recently visited Stanley Park Infants School to talk to year 1 classes about seasons and how they can use colours. They very kindly invited me back to view their art gallery which was amazing! They worked so hard on lots of projects this year. I was particularly pleased to see how well their trees turned out.
Well done tigers, giraffes and zebras!!!
Half term story time with Duck
Duck's going to the library! He'll be hosting story time sessions in Westcroft and Wallington libraries during half term. Come and meet Duck and help to create new stories about his adventures.
See the event poster for more information, including how to book tickets.
Sutton Writers- guest speaker
‘Your evening with Sutton Writers was a great success. We thoroughly enjoyed the quality of your posters and other illustrations and were delighted to meet Duck! It gave us all food for thought about the relationship between our words and your pictures. We look forward to more!
Bernard Jacobs, Chair, Sutton Writers. May, 2019’
I was invited to exhibit in Europäischer Kunstsalon Minden 2019 in Germany. Unfortunately I couldn't make it over there in person so I'm grateful to Doug Shaw, The Consulting Artist, for these photos.
My work is being shown alongside fellow Carshalton Artists Doug Shaw, Claire Chandler and Hana Horack, as well as artists from all over Europe.
I'm busy getting festive! I'll be popping up at several Christmas events as follows:
22 Nov- The Greyhound, Carshalton- Christmas shopping night
1 Dec- Carshalton Frost Fair
7 Dec- Cheam Christmas Fair
16 Dec- Made In Croydon Christmas Fair, Box Park, Croydon
Tales from the Odyssey
I was very lucky to take part in this year's London Literary Festival and the Southbank Centre.
I worked with storytellers Wendy Shearer and Andy Copps, providing illustrations for a cut down version of The Odyssey.
It was a real challenge as Greek mythology isn't something I've worked with before. Working collaboratively and live on stage also taught me a few new things and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Alex, Southbank Centre: "We were very happy with the event and it was lovely to have so many audiences enjoying it across the weekend."
Fun at the fair
I love the annual Carshalton Environmental Fair. This year it was a busy day promoting CAOS19, meeting the mayor, hosting story sessions for Duck's Lucky Day, running a stall...oh, and finding time to chill with the family and listen to some great live music.
Causing CAOS again!
It's time for another CAOS! Yes, we're doing it again as last year went so well.
This year the dates are 23, 24, 30th June and 1st July. So come along and see what we've been up to since last year.
Duck's going to the carnival
The Carshalton Carnival will be in Carshalton Park on Saturday 9th June. Duck will be there for the official launch of 'Duck's Lucky Day'.
So come along to the carnival to get your copy of the book as well as posters and cards and other goodies.
I was very happy to be invited to visit the year 1 pupils at Beddington Infants' School to help with their topic of 'Splendid skies'. We talked about colour and then they coloured their own posters expressing stormy, summery and sunset skies.
Thank you to all the year 1 artists and their teachers for letting me visit your inspirational school. Keep up the good work and here's a few of the lovely posters.
I'm causing CAOS!
I'm very excited to be involved in an exciting new event...CAOS!
Carshalton Artists Open Studios will see artists doors opening 24/25 June and 1/2 July, including the new studio that I share with my husband, Neal Vaughan who is the driving force behind the event.
I'll be displaying my art as well as sharing and discussing how I work. I'll also be popping into Calladoodles for a chat and a glass of bubbly on 30th June!
Check out full details on our website and social media:
New designs for a new venture!
To celebrate the opening of the new 'Dotty's Teahouse' I've come up with 3 new designs in keeping with their passion for tea and cake.
Each design is now available as poster prints, cards and postcards. They also asked me to decorate the blackboard in their front window!
Back to school
Thank you to the Year 1 teachers and children at Stanley Park Infant School for welcoming me into their classes to see their lovely artwork. They've recently been painting trees in the 4 seasons inspired by my Carshalton poster designs.
It was fantastic to see how enthusistic they were and to hear them talk about their work.
It made me feel very lucky to be in a position to inspire them.
Below are 4 of the designs coloured by the children to show their favourite seasons.
Thank you Year 1, I love them!
